A mechanical creation based on the 62GS case design that captures the beauty of early spring cherry blossoms. This elegant 30mm wris twatch is a modern interpretation of the celebrated 62GS, Grand Seiko’s first mechanical model to feature automatic winding. It is c haracterized by its distinctive bezel-free construction, which allows for a seamless integration of the crystal with the case. Like its predecessor, this modern reinterpretation features the characteristic sharp edges and perfectly distortion-free surfaces that on ly Zaratsu polishing can create, along with a wide dial opening achieved through the bezel-free design. The pink dial is inspired by sakura-kakushi, a phenomenon in which cherry blossoms are gently hidden beneath a blanket of snow. This tranquil scene unfolds in e arly spring in northern Japan, where the Grand Seiko Studio Shizukuishi, home to all Grand Seiko mechanical creations, is located. I t is powered by Grand Seiko’s smallest automatic mechanical movement, Caliber 9S27. With a case diameter of 30mm and a thickness of just 10.5mm, this new creation is the most compact 62GS designs and one of the slimmest automatic Grand Seiko timepieces today. The see-through case back allows wearers to enjoy the beauty of the Caliber 9S27. Caliber 9S27 achieves the perfect balance of exception al performance and refined slimness. It realizes an accuracy rate of +8 to−3 seconds per day and a power reserve of 50 hours.
